Dharohar

The idea of Dharohar, our school outreach program is focussed on developing answers for the most common question – ‘Who Am I? What is the purpose of my life? Why am I here?’

Through this, we wish to reach out to many schools as possible, mainly targeting the elementary classes, helping the students find their worth and an answer to the complex, continuous and vast phenomenon of identity.

The structure of our education system, be it literature or social sciences are the strongest means of developing a child’s personality but the impact of colonisation still raises its ugly head in texts tilted towards a more western understanding of the world, and the child learns nothing about his/her own roots. Thus the things that are crucial for a child’s knowledge are taken away from him/her. They take whatever is given to them as the truth, and the culture of questioning dies in their brains.

Therefore, we aspire to hit our target at a young stage and provide them a space so that they explore themselves in a positive manner and come closer to their identity as an individual, as an Indian and understand the dynamics of their country.
