The Depressed Classes had long been discriminated against and systematically denied their rights for centuries in the country. But, with the Poona Pact of 1932, things started to change significantly for them as they could contest and win elections on the seats reserved for them. However, the Depressed Classes are far from complete liberation and a lot needs to be done for it beginning from now.
